Budget: $750-$1500
Category: Copywriting
In order to add original contents to a knowledgebase website, we are looking for writers to create short questions and answers on specific subjects in French.
Relevant examples of such sites carrying FAQS are at :
http://fr.answers.yahoo.com
http://www.helium.com/
We are for example currently looking for FAQs / articles writers on
banking
personal finance
environment
food and diets
insurance
real estate
computers and internet (viruses, email, spam...)
electronics
GPS : navigation systems, geocaching
digital cameras
You must commit to writing original contents that we'll have exclusivity on : ie you must write for us and cannot copy the same contents elsewhere.
We need you to write in very good French a simple and clear question, and between one and a few replies to it. You are free to come up
with questions provided they enter the field of the subjects above, and provided their answer is either instructive, or clever, original, etc.
We are open to suggestions and this may become a long-term job for several people.
Please submit your bid with your price : could be per "article" or per word, along with many hours per week you can dedicate to that job.
Please clearly specify this in your bid.
Examples of such web contents creation or ideas and samples will be a plus. A web interface will be provided so that you can enter contents on our site, or the articles could be provided in a text file.
The job, at least in this initial phase, is to create "question/answer" pairs rather than full-fledged articles, so FAQs are much shorter and quicker to write. Some could be a few line long, others could span a unique question but a more detailed answer. Those questions and their answer, even though on a variety of matters, must be clear and simple and provide useful tips and advice.
Sites like http://fr.answers.yahoo.com provide good examples, or here is a typical Q/A we could have :

How can I avoid receiving Spam ?
- Get yourself at least two email accounts. Use one for public communications (forums, communities, business cards) and keep the other one only for trusted contacts. Use only the public one for registering for Internet services/accounts. Indeed, you will still get spam, but this way at least you have a clean account.
- If you have to list your email account on public pages, try to cheat spam spiders. Instead of writing your address as "[removed by this site who believes I posted a contact email ;-) ]", write it as "john_at_domain_dot_com". People will understand how to read it, but robots will not.
- When receiving a spam mail, do not attempt to unsubscribe. Most spammers are using it to validate your email address, for further spamming purposes. It's simple: if you unsubscribe, it means your email address exists and someone (you) is receiving the mails.

Please bid for that job by quoting how much you'd charge, but keeping in mind that at that stage writing such contents will not be paid like
the writing of full articles that require higher standards.
As for the choice we will discuss the contents they write with the providers, but they are free to choose their area of expertise, or suggest others.
Thank you.
